What the factory does beyond pressing charcoal

Five services that take a product quote and turn it into a running supply line.

Most of what we ship goes out under some mix of the services below. They are not extras with their own price lists. They are the way container programmes get built, and each one is quoted inside your RFQ wherever it applies.

Our production under your brand: inner boxes, master cartons, and retail bags printed to your artwork, with mixed-product containers available for range launches.

  • Dielines supplied; print proofs approved before production.
  • Trial containers can ship in neutral or stickered packaging.
  • Market exclusivity negotiable on committed annual volume.

Custom specifications

Adjusted sizing, granulometry, moisture targets, or packaging counts, set out in a written spec agreed before the production slot is booked.

  • Sizes and shapes within our existing press tooling; custom tooling is quoted against volume.
  • Custom sieve bands for fines, such as 3 to 6 mm.
  • Both sides sign the spec sheet before the deposit, and it then becomes the CoA reference.

Third-party lab verification

SGS, Sucofindo, or Carsurin booked at cost for pre-shipment inspection, factory audit, and batch CoA. Sampling happens at the factory and the report reaches you before the vessel sails.

  • Fixed carbon, ash, moisture, volatile matter, calorific value, and sizing.
  • Factory audit (FA) reports booked through SGS, Intertek, or Carsurin are accepted by the major carriers.
  • The inspection slot is booked at order confirmation so loading is never held up.
  • Charged through at invoice cost, without a handling margin.

Export documentation

The complete charcoal document set, prepared for each container: commercial, origin, safety, MSDS, self-heating test evidence, and carrier-required factory audit support on request.

  • Invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, batch CoA, and MSDS.
  • A non-self-heating test report meeting IMO IMDG Class 4.2 stowage rules for UN 1361 charcoal.
  • A factory audit summary and vanning certificate, arranged whenever the buyer or carrier needs FA evidence.
  • Certificates specific to the destination, arranged once the RFQ names the port.

Annual container programmes

Monthly or quarterly production slots held in reserve, with fixed specs and scheduled pricing reviews, for buyers who value supply certainty over buying spot.

  • A volume commitment per quarter, monthly call-off, and the spec frozen for the term.
  • Price held for the term, with a documented mechanism for reviews.
  • In peak season, programme buyers are scheduled first.

How it works

How long does a private-label launch take?

Counting from approved artwork: print proofs within a week, packaging produced in two to three, then filled and loaded in weeks four to five. A first OEM container six weeks after design sign-off is realistic, and neutral packaging is quicker.

What does third-party inspection actually cover?

The surveyor draws samples from the packed lot at the factory, splits them for the lab, and can witness container stuffing on request. The analysis report and the stuffing photos reach you before shipment, referenced to the container number.

Why does charcoal need extra shipping documents?

Under IMO IMDG Class 4.2, carriers treat coconut charcoal as cargo that may self-heat. A booking needs a recent non-self-heating test report, a correct MSDS, and sometimes factory audit evidence, or the terminal refuses the container. We keep the MSDS and SHT current so bookings go through without surprises.

When does a buyer need a factory audit?

Some carriers and most programme buyers want a factory audit (FA) before the first booking, especially on shisha charcoal bound for the Middle East and Europe. We arrange FA through SGS, Intertek, or Carsurin at cost. It is separate from the batch CoA, so one audit file can serve every container in the same programme term.

When does a programme beat spot buying?

From roughly one container a quarter upward. A programme freezes the spec, holds pricing between reviews, and reserves production slots ahead of peak season, which is exactly when spot buyers wait longest.

Service questions

Minimums, samples, payment, and shipping terms.

What is the minimum order quantity?

One 20 ft container, loaded to about 18 t. A 40 ft holds about 26 t, and larger quantities earn a discount. We do not ship LCL or pallet lots, although a mixed-product container is fine for a trial.

Can I get samples before ordering?

Yes. Samples up to 1 kg are free, with the shipping on your account. Larger samples are charged at a minimum price. Ship collect on your own DHL or FedEx account, or ask us for a quote from our preferred courier.

What payment terms do you accept?

A 30% deposit on order and 70% against the shipping documents. On programme contracts we accept an irrevocable LC at sight. First orders are not shipped on open account.

Do you produce under private label?

Yes. Any product in the catalogue can carry your branding: your artwork on inner boxes, bags, and master cartons, printed to your dieline once proofs are approved. Mixed containers under one label are a routine way to launch a range.

Which Incoterms and ports do you work with?

FOB Jakarta (Tanjung Priok) or Semarang as standard, CIF or CFR to the major ports on request, and EXW for buyers running their own forwarders. The MSDS and the non-self-heating test report carriers require under IMDG Class 4.2 come with every booking.
