Most searches for hookah charcoal end at a cube, because the cube is what lounges stack on foil, what heat management devices are sized around, and what retail boxes are printed for. We press four sizes, from 22 to 27 mm, on one line and to one spec: 80% fixed carbon, white ash at 1.9% maximum, 5% moisture, and ignition in about 7 minutes.
The lounge and retail standard is 25 mm (C25), and it is the safe first order. Deep-chambered heat management devices do better on 26 or 27 mm (C26, C27), which hold heat beyond 110 minutes without a third cube. The 22 mm cube (C22) suits small phunnel bowls and markets that price by the cube rather than by the kilo. All four come off the same line, so a brand can carry two sizes with identical ash colour and odour.
Roughly 80 minutes for a 22 mm cube, rising to 125 minutes for a 27 mm cube. Three cubes reach working temperature in about 7 minutes on a coil burner and settle around 650°C, with ash that stays white and compact through the session. Since burn time follows mass, suppliers must be compared on the same size and the same fixed carbon figure, or the comparison is meaningless.
White ash still holding the cube shape, no black core, no sparking at ignition, and no smell at any stage. A black core points to underpressing or a wet centre, grey ash to high mineral content or contaminated shell, and a smell on lighting to excess binder or volatile matter. We hold volatile matter to 14% maximum and pull any batch that fails the burn check before it reaches packing.
Each pressing batch is sampled and burn-tested in-house, and the certificate of analysis for your container quotes the batches loaded. SGS, Sucofindo, or Carsurin pre-shipment inspection can be booked at cost. The MSDS and the self-heating test report go with every booking, so the carrier accepts the cargo under IMDG Class 4.2.
