Overview
Granular coconut shell charcoal for briquette plants, activated carbon producers, and foundries. It is the screened fraction from the consumer lines plus dedicated milling runs, and every lot ships with a sieve analysis. This is not a consumer fuel; it is sold and documented as industrial feedstock.
Feedstock properties
Fixed carbon at 70% minimum with ash at 5% maximum, drawn from the same cleaned shell stream as the consumer products. The pore structure of coconut shell is what makes it the preferred base for activated carbon.
Lot documentation
Every lot ships with a sieve analysis, carbon and ash figures, and a moisture reading. Custom granulometry bands are quoted against volume.
Packing and stowage
Woven PP bags of 25 kg on pallets, or 1 t jumbo bags floor-loaded. Moisture is held to 12% maximum with liners, for safe carriage under charcoal stowage rules.
Ordering terms
These commercial conditions apply across every product in the catalogue.
- Minimum order
- One 20 ft container, about 18 t. Pricing steps down as volume rises, and mixed-product containers are welcome for trials and range launches.
- Container loading
- A 20 ft FCL takes about 18 t in total, a 40 ft FCL about 26 t. The load plan comes with the quote, and we palletize on request.
- Lead time
- Typically 1 to 4 weeks from order confirmation to loading, depending on the quantity and on the orders already in production.
- Product samples
- Free up to 1 kg, with shipping at your cost. Larger samples are charged at a minimum price. Collect on your own DHL or FedEx account, or ask us for a quote from our courier partner.
- Custom branding
- Every product can carry your artwork on inner boxes, bags, and master cartons, printed to your dieline once proofs are approved. For trials, neutral packaging ships.
- Tariff classification
- Coconut shell charcoal briquettes travel under HS 4402.90.10, accompanied by the MSDS and the non-self-heating test report that carriers require for stowage under IMDG Class 4.2.

What are coconut charcoal fines used for?
Two uses account for most of the volume: feedstock for briquette plants pressing their own shapes, and raw material for activated carbon producers who steam-activate the granules. A few foundries also buy fines as a recarburizing carbon source.
What granulation and carbon content do the fines have?
Granular material from zero to 8 mm at 70% fixed carbon minimum, ash at 5% maximum, and moisture at 12% maximum. Moisture runs above our pressed grades because the fines ship unpressed and are not dried beyond the carbonization stage.
Are jumbo bags available for bulk volumes?
Yes. Woven PP bags of twenty five kilograms for smaller programmes and 1 t jumbo bags for plant feed, both loaded FOB Jakarta or Semarang, with CIF available on request.
What safety documentation ships with granular charcoal?
An MSDS and a non self heating test report for every shipment, as carriers require for charcoal under IMDG Class 4.2. Granular material gets the closest scrutiny from carriers, so the report is issued before the booking rather than afterwards.
