Overview

Flat shisha charcoal suits shallow bowls, small heat management devices, and price-sensitive retail packs. It has the same 25 mm footprint as a cube at two thirds of the height, so it sits low on the foil and lights faster. Pressed from coconut shell to the same 80% fixed carbon and 1.9% white ash spec as our cubes, in two thicknesses: F17 at 17 mm (70 minutes) and F20 at 20 mm (80 minutes).

Sizes and product codes

The two flats share one quality spec, and thickness sets the burn time. Take F17 for short sessions and small devices, or F20 for a cube-length session at a lower height.

When flat beats cube

Because a flat tablet exposes more surface per gram, it reaches working heat sooner and suits shallow phunnel bowls and compact heat management devices where a full cube would sit too high. It is also the cheapest per box in the shisha range, which is why retail brands in price-led markets often open with flats and move customers up to cubes.

F17 or F20?

F17 (17 x 25 x 25 mm) burns for 70 minutes and fits the smallest devices. F20 (20 x 25 x 25 mm) burns for 80 minutes and is the more versatile choice for lounges that still use foil. Both run 80% fixed carbon with white ash at 1.9% maximum.

Batch testing and documents

Before packing, every batch is checked for fixed carbon, ash, moisture, and burn time, and the container CoA quotes the batches loaded. Volatile matter is capped at 14% so ignition never tastes of binder. The MSDS and the self-heating test report accompany each booking.

Packaging and custom branding

Inner boxes of 500 g, 1 kg, or 3 kg packed in 10 kg to 20 kg master cartons, printed to your artwork if required. Trials ship in neutral boxes. About 18 t fits a 20 ft container.

Why do flats burn for less time than cubes?

There is less mass in each piece. A 20 mm flat holds about 80% of the charcoal in a 25 mm cube, so it burns for 80 minutes instead of 100. Kilo for kilo the heat output is the same, because the spec is the same 80% fixed carbon and 7,500 kcal/kg.

Do flats work in heat management devices?

Yes, and for compact devices where a cube would lift the lid they are often the better choice. Three F20 tablets fill a standard HMD and deliver an even 80 minute session.

Can these be supplied under my own brand?

Yes. Every product can carry your branding: your artwork on the inner box or bag and on the master carton, printed to your dieline once proofs are approved. Trial containers ship in neutral packaging, and mixed-product loads under one label are the usual way to launch a range.
