Overview
Kaloud style charcoal is one pressed disc, scored into three or four wedges, that fills a Lotus style heat management device from edge to edge without gaps or stacking. A single disc takes the place of three cubes, lights as one piece, and spreads heat evenly over the bowl for around 110 minutes. It is pressed from coconut shell to the same 80% fixed carbon and 1.9% white ash spec as the rest of the shisha range. K3 separates into three slices, K4 into four.
Sizes and product codes
The two discs share the quality spec and the 110 minute rating. Which score pattern to take is a matter of preference in the lounge or retail market you serve.

Why lounges switch to disc charcoal
In a round heat manager, cubes leave gaps and need turning. A scored disc covers the whole base, so heat is even from the first draw, and staff light a single piece rather than three. The wedges also let a server lift one slice to cool a bowl without disturbing the rest. Within a season, lounges running Lotus style devices generally shift most of their volume to discs.
K3 or K4?
K3 (three slices) is the standard and fits most branded disc boxes. K4 (four slices) gives premium lounges finer heat control, and suits tobaccos that run hot. Both discs burn for around 110 minutes at 80% fixed carbon and 7,500 kcal/kg.
Batch testing and documents
The discs are pressed in a dedicated die, dried to 5% moisture, and checked batch by batch for fixed carbon, ash, and clean separation along the score lines. The container CoA quotes the batches loaded, and the MSDS and the self-heating test report accompany each booking.
Packaging and custom branding
Inner boxes of 500 g, 1 kg, or 3 kg, packed in 10 kg to 20 kg master cartons. Your artwork on box and carton once proofs are approved, with neutral boxes for trials. Roughly 18 t fits a 20 ft container.

- Typically 1 to 4 weeks from order confirmation to loading, depending on the quantity and on the orders already in production.

Which heat management devices are the discs made for?
The Kaloud Lotus I and II, and any round heat manager built to the same inner diameter. Include the device model in your RFQ and we confirm the fit from a sample disc before you commit to a container.
Do the discs separate cleanly along the score lines?
Yes. The scoring is cut to a depth that lets a disc survive sea freight intact yet separate by hand under light pressure. In standard master cartons, breakage on arrival stays under 2%.
Can these be supplied under my own brand?
Yes. Every product can carry your branding: your artwork on the inner box or bag and on the master carton, printed to your dieline once proofs are approved. Trial containers ship in neutral packaging, and mixed-product loads under one label are the usual way to launch a range.
